I'm sure many are aware of the re-make of the movie, "Footloose." What you may not be aware of is what a UPC minister was quoted as saying, at the time of the actual events that this movie is loosely based upon. That affiliated UPC church appears to still be in operation, but pastored by another man.
Quoting from the online source linked to here: "As the Rev. F.R. Johnson of the United Pentecostal Church in nearby Hennepin was quoted in People magazine as saying at the time: 'If you have a dance, somebody will crash it, and they'll be looking for only two things - women and booze. When boys and girls hold each other, they get sexually aroused.'"
The UPC has stood against dancing for many years.
