Video About Gordon Magee Possibly Regretting Oneness Beliefs

Posted January 7th, 2009 at 06:29 PM by Lois
Just an interesting video I came across.

"Oneness Pentecostal Gordon Magee wrote the popular Oneness booklet 'Is Jesus in the Godhead or is the Godhead in Jesus?' But did he end up denying the very doctrine he sought to defend?"

I wonder whether he actually denied his oneness beliefs, or merely regretted any divisiveness which he felt (real or assumed) he may have stirred up with his book. While it's entirely possible -- by the wording of the letter -- that he did regret his doctrinal belief, it is just as possible -- by the wording of the letter -- that his regret was not his belief but his actions or works that resulted from it. It may be that he came to a more gracious understanding of God and feels he was too blunt or judgment in his arguments or wording.

God says to let everything be established by 2 or 3 witnesses.

Perhaps it would help to learn and understand the context of the passage about witnesses.

I really doubt that Gordon Magee would regret the Oneness.

Total conjecture to begin with and so what even if it were true, the bible is God's word not any commentary oneness or otherwise.

I was converted under Gordon Magee's ministry in 1971, in Houston, Texas and my earliest Biblical training was under his teaching.
To my knowledge, his only regret concerning his position on the Godhead, had to do with a debate in which he felt he had hurt his opponent in such a way that he did great ham to the mans life and ministry.
