Milk or Meat?

Hi. It's me, Emma. I am a ficticious Amish person. I am cutting and pasting some things from the board to here, so others can join in and read. Here is one of my first posts!
Now friends, we all know it is not God's will for you to be just like the world. We all know that you are not supposed to wear pants or jewelry or drive cars or have electricity for that matter. But we will stick with the milk, since you people have never eaten the meat of the Word of God, where it says you shouldn't drive a car. We will stick with the simple lessons, where you know it says that women shouldn't wear pants etc. Where does it say this? Why it says it in Deut 22:5. Well, it doesn't actually say anything about pants, but it does say that a women shall not wear that which pertains to a man. What pertains to a man my friends? That is of course pants. We know this because women never used to wear pants. Actually men, didn't used to either. This was in Bible days. But we know that American culture is what we will base our arguments off of because the Bishop says so. And we know that he is the Man of God and we won't touch God's anointed. Even though the Bible doesn't have one once of American culture in it, we still know this means pants because we say so. Yes, my friends, we are the anointed ones here to tell you the truth about the message of God's Word.
Now that we have that cleared up, let's move on. Let's talk momentarily about jewelry and the evils of it. We all know that the devil was decorated with jewels and that the Israelites put off their jewelry when they repented. We also know that the Bible says NOT WITH GOLD in 1 Tim 2:9. This is a message for women mostly, who love to look nice and seduce men. It also says not with broided hair, or pearls or costly array. Now, my friends, you need to be more realistic about this. Can you tell me that the costly array at your general conferences does not conflict with this passage? How about those pearl buttons? How about those fancy hairstyles? Friends, we are much more consistent, us Amish and plain people. How can you preach against gold and then wear it on your finger in the form of a wedding ring? How can you use this scripture to be upset about a necklace and then wear a brooch? You are double-minded my friends. Yes, we are the true holy people who do ALL of the Word of God. Now, I know the Bible sometimes speaks favorably about jewelry. Such verse like this:
Quote:
Eze 16:11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.
But we believe that this is figurative and not actual. Surely God would not actually DO this. We still believe wearing jewelry is a sin. God just SPOKE of jewelry in a favorable light like He did other sins in other passages. I can't think of any other sins that he spoke of favorably to use as a figure of speech but I'm sure he must have also spoke of sexual sins or stealing or lust favorably somewhere. For example maybe He said something like "Go ahead and sleep with your neighbor and I will approve it" as a figure of speech. But at any rate, we will not change what we believe about jewelry simply because God speaks of it favorably in a number of passages. We see He speaks of it UNFAVORABLY in some passages and, rather than get confused about our doctrines, we will keep believing what we believe because it's easier.
I am glad you joined me today. Please join me again. I am sure you will join up with me in holiness very soon, as soon as your understanding is opened.
