What Are the Different Types of Writing?

There are many different types of writing out there. From niche articles that require special experience to generalized articles that anyone can write with a little research, there are plenty of options to choose from.
Journalism
This is one of the things that comes to mind when most people think of writing. Jobs that involve covering news and events generally require an appropriate degree.
Authoring
People also think of writing books when writing comes to mind. Although it's difficult to get books published by major publishers, there are many reasonable self-publishing and e-book options available.
Academic Writing
This is one of the types of writing that involves the highest pay, but typically involves a degree and teaching credentials. These jobs typically include writing textbooks, study guides and other curriculum areas.
Copywriting
This is a type of writing that involves writing material, or "copy", for advertising purposes. You may be writing copy for brochures, reports, flyers or other material.
Web Copywriting
This type of copywriting involves writing material used on websites. This also includes blogging. In many cases, the writing is used for search engine optimization purposes (SEO).
The last one is the type of writing I do.

Good info AJ. I took creative writing in college and have a love affair with good writing but don't have the passion to pursue it. I pretty much write for catharsis and sometimes to share with family or friends.

TY Nancy :)I really does take a lot more time than people realize. But, I guess there are worse ways I could be earning a living. Writing has kept me from having to work in retail quite as much.
