Puppies and Kitties and Swings

If you could look inside of me,
You might be surprised at what you would see,
For some of the things most important to me
are puppies and kitties and swings.

When I was innocent and very small,
I took in the beauty of life, heard the call,
I understood that God had created it all,
The puppies and kitties and swings.

I have been on a long trip far from my home,
Where many evils and wolves all roam,
Sadness prevailed and I was alone,
Far from puppies and kitties and swings.

I had no help from anyone there,
There was no one to love or even care,
Not a drop of compassion could anyone spare,
Away from puppies and kitties and swings.

One day as I cried to my Father above,
He smiled on me with an undeserved love.
His Spirit to me descended like a dove,
and reintroduced puppies and kitties and swings.

Now, I smile and cherish so much,
What at one time was lost to my touch,
Never again will I throw away such,
As puppies and kitties and swings.

I would like to play an acoustic guitar,
Singing a song to those who are afar,
"Come see, It's true, He'll change who you are.
Remember puppies and kitties and swings?

It's not money, love, or these sort of things,
Can any type of joy or hope or peace bring,
But turning to God and your soul will sprout wings
Remembering puppies and kitties and swings."

Deep inside of me, I want others to see,
so they too can come home and be free,
God's great love will restore naturally,
Puppies and kitties and swings.
