Church Incorporation

Forward

Most churches incorporate in order to obtain a non-profit status. This is known as a 501(c)(3) status.

Below is what the incorporation papers of Harvestime Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church looked like in 2001. The church later moved to 509 E. 78th Street in Brooklyn and the pastor was Wayne L. Byrd. The church last appeared in the 2010 UPCI Directory. The papers are being provided for educational purposes as very few church members ever see documents such as this.

As a side note, this church had a civil suit against them for breach of contract after the incorporation, for the renovation of certain premises that they had contracted with Noel Dean to do. You will see the church by-laws mentioned in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York's December 2010 decision on the church's appeal.
