(1 Corinthians 12:18 NASB) - Divine Tapestry

(1 Corinthians 12:18 NASB) "But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired."

I remember working on a project in my elementary school years. This project was assigned for science class and the teacher pretty much left it up to the students what the project would consist of..........what area of science it would cover.....what the theme would be.

As I've shared before, I've always been fascinated by outer space. The idea has always intrigued me that there are planets out there in orbit around the sun which is itself in a galaxy (the Milky Way)........which is part of the known universe containing billions of galaxies with billions of stars in each of them.

I spent hours on that science project........perhaps as much time as I had ever spent on any project in school up to that time. I decided to depict a three dimensional model of the universe.........with each planet on my project in roughly the proper scale to other planets in the solar system....Jupiter was largest, of course, down to Mercury, the smallest. I had to take a guess at Pluto because not much was known about it at that time.

I fussed over that project to make it right...........not thinking of the grade.........not thinking of the time it took away from other things. And finally when I turned it in, I was rewarded with an "A" , and it was posted on the bulletin board.

The scripture quoted tonight is one of my favorites (I have it in my signature line in my posts). Brother Paul tells me that there was no accident that I came along.........there was no accident that I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior......there was no accident that the Lord chose me to serve Him in precisely the manner He reveals to me daily. It was His Plan from the very beginning.

I was placed in the Body as one of its members by the Lord, Himself. I have particular duties to perform while doing the Work of the Kingdom. I'm special to Him because He took the time to place me just where He wanted me to be.

I have been picked up by the Hand of God and placed *exactly* where He wanted me to be. I haven't always stayed there, but with His Love and Help I've always returned to my "place" after I've left. I'm the Handiwork of the Lord...............a part of a beautiful tapestry composed of all in His Family......that He has fashioned "just as He desired."

Love in Jesus,

Jim
